Friday we anticpated family coming into town for Hyrum's graduation. Hyrum picked up Tad and Aaron at the airport and headed to Voo-Doo (sp?) Doughnuts. Did you know you could get a maple bar with slice of bacon on top? Yuck! However, the M&M's and Oreo covered doughnuts were delectable. I waited at home for my parents to arrive and had dinner with them at La Hacienda Real. Delish! Dad, are you still feeling the Chile Verde? We then lounged around and waited for the rest of the Zeyer clan to arrive. They pulled into Salem in a 16 passenger van at 2:30am! Way to go!
Saturday we loaded up on french toast and headed to the coast. We followed a HUGE stream of bikers for the "Reach the Beach" event. Over 4,000 participants and I swear we saw everyone of them while driving to Pacific City. The car ahead of us, on multiple occasions, flashed the bird at the bikers hogging the road. A little un-called for, but then Dad suggested we just get a really long stick and poke a few of them out of the way. Once we arrived at the beach we dived into the salmon dip and goodies. For dinner we fried up red snapper, scallops, shrimp, and topped it off with a spiced peach and pear cobbler. I think I'm ready for more!
